Automated customer calling with a voice AI agent is an outbound campaign in which the agent dials numbers from your segment itself, holds a dialogue in Uzbek or Russian, secures the target action (a confirmation, a payment, a booking) and writes the outcome to the CRM. It is not IVR or a recorded broadcast: the agent hears the customer, answers questions and hands a complex conversation to a manager. Zukko.AI, an AI agent platform for business, connects the voice agent on top of your telephony over SIP, and the calling window is set in the campaign settings: promotional calls run only from 09:00 to 18:00. AI calls are available only on the Enterprise plan: from 15,000,000 UZS a month for the whole product, with 2,200 minutes and 1 AI line included and 1,900 UZS per extra minute. Start with scenarios that have a clear target action: payment reminders, booking or order confirmation, win-back of lapsed customers.
What AI calling does and what it is not
AI calling is not a voice broadcast. A robocall plays the same message to everyone; the agent asks a question, listens to the answer and continues along the branch that fits it. The customer may say "move it to Friday" or "I already paid yesterday", and the agent understands, reacts and logs it in the card.
What AI calling does not do: it does not sell complex products from scratch, argue with an unhappy customer or call people who opted out. It hands such conversations to an operator with a transcript and removes numbers that refused from the next waves.
Robocalls vs a voice AI agent: what is the difference
A robocall broadcasts a recorded message: the robot plays the same clip to everyone and at best accepts a key press. A voice AI agent holds a conversation: it understands a free-form answer, asks a clarifying question and logs the outcome in the CRM. So robocalls suit mass notifications, while a confirmation, a payment or a booking needs a conversation. The detailed comparison is on the voice AI agent vs robocalls page.
Which automated calling scenarios pay off first
The best first scenario is one where the call has a single goal, the answer fits in a couple of phrases, and without the call the business loses money right now. This is where teams usually start:
| Scenario | Call goal | What goes to the CRM | Who it suits |
|---|---|---|---|
| Booking confirmation | the customer comes or reschedules | status "confirmed / rescheduled / cancelled", new time | clinics, salons, training centres, car services |
| Order confirmation | items, address and delivery time are right | order confirmed or corrected before dispatch | online shops and delivery; more in for e-commerce |
| Payment reminder | pay before the due date | promised payment date or the reason for delay | instalments, subscriptions, microfinance; see overdue payment calls and reminders |
| Post-purchase survey | a score and the reason for it | NPS score and a transcript of the comment | services, retail, healthcare |
| Winning back dormant customers | a reason to come back | interest, objection, next step | any base with repeat purchases; see re-engaging dormant customers |
| Leads from the website and ads | reach out before the lead goes cold | qualification and handover to a manager | real estate, education, auto |
Start with one scenario. Two campaigns at once make it impossible to tell which one works.
What a call script looks like: a booking confirmation example
A script for the agent sets the goal, the mandatory phrases and the branches. The agent picks natural wording itself, so the conversation does not sound read out. Here is a clinic call confirming a visit:
- Greeting and disclosure. "Hello, Dilnoza! This is the AI assistant of the clinic in Chilanzar. I am calling to confirm your appointment tomorrow at 11:00. Is this a good time to talk?"
- The main question. "Will you come tomorrow at 11:00?" If the answer is yes, the agent thanks the customer, reminds them of the address and sets the status "confirmed" in the CRM.
- The "I cannot make it" branch. The agent offers an open slot from the schedule and moves the booking. If the schedule is not connected, it sets the administrator a task to call back.
- The "who is this?" branch. The agent calmly repeats who is calling and why and offers to connect the customer with the administrator.
- The "do not call me" branch. The agent apologises and ends the call; the number goes to the stop list and is excluded from future campaigns.
- Outcome. The status, transcript and next step are written to the customer card; the call recording is available in call analytics.
The agent picks the language of the conversation from the customer’s answer: if the customer replies in Uzbek, the call continues in Uzbek, and the language can change mid-call.
How to launch a calling campaign in six steps
- Pick one task and a success criterion. For example: "the customer confirmed or rescheduled the booking".
- Build a segment in the CRM. Who we call and who we exclude: those who already paid, already booked or opted out of calls. Segments and consents are easiest to keep in smart campaigns.
- Write the script. A greeting that discloses the AI, the main question, answer branches and the condition for handover to an operator.
- Set the calling window and retries. A daytime window in Tashkent time (UTC+5), the number of retries and the gap between them; agree the exact hours with your lawyer.
- Listen to test calls. Staff answer like real customers, with refusals, rescheduling and off-topic questions.
- Launch on part of the base. Compare first-wave metrics with manual calling and only then expand the campaign to the whole segment.
How to keep calling from turning into spam
A customer number and name are personal data, and their processing is governed by the Law on Personal Data (ZRU-547) with the March 2026 amendments (gazeta.uz, 27.03.2026). Beyond the law there is simple commercial logic: a customer called for no reason unsubscribes from everything. The minimum rules:
- call only people who have a relationship with you and a lawful basis for the call;
- at the start of the conversation the agent says it is an AI assistant;
- a refusal is honoured at once and for good: the number goes to the stop list;
- people who already completed the target action are dropped from the next wave automatically;
- calls go out only in the daytime window, with no night or early-morning calls.
The legal side is covered in detail in is it legal to call customers with a robot. This is an overview, not legal advice.
Which metrics show that calling works
The number of calls made says nothing about the result. Look at the funnel from dialling to the target action:
| Metric | How to calculate | What it shows |
|---|---|---|
| Connection rate | conversations ÷ numbers dialled | the quality of the base and the calling window |
| Completed dialogues | reached the main question ÷ conversations | whether people hang up at the greeting |
| Target action | confirmations, payments or bookings ÷ conversations | whether the script works |
| Handover to an operator | escalations ÷ conversations | where the script lacks branches |
| Opt-outs | requests not to call ÷ conversations | whether the campaign is too pushy |
| Cost of a target action | spend on AI calls ÷ number of target actions | whether calling pays off against manual calling |
Compare the first wave with how the same segment was called manually. Numbers differ for every business, so your benchmark is your own baseline, not other companies’ reports.
How much a minute of AI calling costs
AI calls are available only on the Enterprise plan. Without calls it starts at 10,900,000 UZS a month and with calls at 15,000,000 UZS: the whole product, 30 seats, 1,800 million tokens, 2,200 minutes, 1 AI line and 10 VoIP lines. A minute costs 1,850 UZS and we bill by the second of talk time. Prices follow the current price list:
| AI lines | Price per month | What to know |
|---|---|---|
| 1 AI line | 15,000,000 UZS | 2,200 minutes included, one conversation at a time |
| 2 AI lines | 20,000,000 UZS | the same 2,200 minutes, two conversations at a time |
| 3 AI lines | 25,000,000 UZS | the same 2,200 minutes, three conversations at a time |
| above the plan | 1,900 UZS per minute | charged to the prepaid balance |
A worked example. The Enterprise plan with AI calls (15,000,000 UZS) includes 2,200 minutes. If conversations take 3,000 minutes, the 800 extra minutes at 1,900 UZS add 1,520,000 UZS, for a total of 16,520,000 UZS a month. With an average conversation of 1.4 minutes, 2,200 minutes cover about 1,600 conversations, roughly 53 a day. Unused minutes expire at the end of the billing period, so work out your campaign schedule in advance. You pay your telecom operator for connectivity, and voice setup is by quote.
When you do not need automated calling
If only a handful of customers a day need a call, the plan with AI calls at 15,000,000 UZS a month and up will not pay off. A small salon or studio is better off sending booking reminders in Telegram and Instagram: the AI employee does this on any plan, including Start, with no separate charge for minutes. Automated calling is needed when the base is large and a call does what a message cannot: the customer does not read messengers, a quick answer is needed or the voice matters.
Bottom line: where to start with automated calls
Automated calling pays off where the flow of calls is steady, the call is short, the goal is single and the loss from a missed call shows up in money: a no-show, a late payment, an unconfirmed order. Start with one scenario, build a clean segment, listen to test calls and track the cost of a target action rather than the number of dials.

Frequently asked questions
How much does a minute of automated calling cost
A minute costs 1,850 UZS and an extra minute 1,900 UZS, charged to the prepaid balance. We bill by the second of talk time, and you pay your telecom operator for connectivity. AI calls are available only on the Enterprise plan, from 15,000,000 UZS a month.
How many minutes does the plan include
The Enterprise plan with AI calls includes 2,200 minutes a month. With an average conversation of 1.4 minutes that is about 1,600 conversations, roughly 53 a day. If you need to call much less often, reminders are better sent as messenger messages.
What happens to unused minutes
Unused minutes expire at the end of the billing period and do not roll over. So compare the included minutes with your campaign schedule: how many customers are in the segment and how many calling waves you run each month.
Do calls use plan tokens
No. Plan tokens are spent on AI work in chat, the CRM and call analytics, while AI calls themselves are counted in minutes. Reviewing all the calls in the plan uses about 104 million of the 1,800 million tokens.
What does the agent do if the customer asks to be called back later
The agent asks for a convenient time, ends the conversation and schedules a repeat call for that time. The arrangement is saved in the customer card, so the manager sees why the call was moved and when the agent will call again.
Can we call a specific segment rather than the whole base
Yes, a campaign always runs on a CRM segment: for example, customers booked for tomorrow or with a payment due in three days. Those who already completed the action or opted out of calls are excluded from the segment in advance.
What if we need more minutes or more simultaneous conversations
Minutes above 2,200 cost 1,900 UZS each and are charged to the prepaid balance, with warnings at 80% and 100% of usage. One AI line is one conversation at a time: the second and third lines cost 5,000,000 UZS a month each, for a total of 20,000,000 and 25,000,000 UZS. You can discuss the volume through the contact form.
