SUPPORT · UZ + RU

Support in Uzbek means answering the customer in the language and the script they wrote in: Latin, Cyrillic or a mix with Russian. The AI platform detects the language of an Instagram, Telegram or WhatsApp enquiry automatically, answers from your knowledge base around the clock and escalates only what the base does not cover. The customer never picks a language and never hears “sorry, we only reply in Russian”. In Uzbekistan the same customer may write in Latin script in the morning and send a voice message mixing Uzbek and Russian in the evening. Consultation in Uzbek rests on three things: a knowledge base in both languages, automatic language detection and a handover of hard questions to an operator together with the conversation history. The reply arrives in the same channel the customer wrote to, at any hour. A small business can launch from 2 hours with the knowledge base ready; an enterprise with integrations takes up to 30 days.

Why the customer’s language is a retention question

In Uzbekistan some customers write in Uzbek, some in Russian and many mix the two. If support answers in only one language, some customers never get an answer in their own language and leave for someone who gives one. Answering in the customer’s language is not politeness — it is conversion and retention.

The script adds another layer. The Latin-based Uzbek alphabet was introduced by a 1993 law, which keeps the conditions for using Cyrillic (lex.uz). In practice both alphabets are used in official documents, media, advertising and publishing: people over 25 mostly read in Cyrillic, the generation under 24–25 in Latin (gazeta.uz, 2024). In September 2026 a senator acknowledged that newspapers are still published in Cyrillic (gazeta.uz, 2026). Support in Uzbek therefore means at least three forms of one language: Latin, Cyrillic and a mix with Russian.

How it works

  1. The customer writes on Instagram, Telegram or WhatsApp in their own language — the enquiry lands in the single inbox.
  2. AI support detects the language of the enquiry automatically.
  3. It finds the answer in your knowledge base and replies in the same language.
  4. Anything complex is escalated to an operator with the context preserved.

How to set up the whole support flow from channel to escalation is covered in how to automate support.

How to prepare a knowledge base in two languages

The AI platform answers from your knowledge base, so the quality of answers in Uzbek depends on it first of all. Prepare it before launch using four rules.

  • What to translate first. Prices, delivery, payment, returns, opening hours and addresses, plus the 20–30 questions customers ask most often — you can see them in the message history.
  • One script in the base. Keep the Uzbek part in one script, usually Latin, without manual Cyrillic duplicates: when a customer writes in Cyrillic, the AI platform answers in Cyrillic from the same article.
  • Consistent terms. Fix Uzbek–Russian pairs such as “buyurtma — заказ” (order), “yetkazib berish — доставка” (delivery) and “toʻlov — оплата” (payment), so the same thing has the same name in both languages.
  • Escalation rules. List in advance what the AI hands to an operator: refunds, payment disputes, complaints, individual discounts, questions the base does not cover. The operator receives the enquiry with the message history and answers in the customer’s language.

Three checks before choosing a help desk

Many global help desk platforms are built around English and the other major languages. Before choosing, check three things on your own real enquiries: does the system understand Uzbek Cyrillic as well as Latin, does it handle mixed Uzbek–Russian messages, and does it recognise voice messages in Uzbek. In Zukko.AI a voice message in Uzbek is transcribed and handled from the same knowledge base as text — more in the article on voice messages and photos in chat. More about the platform on the AI support page.

Consultation in Uzbek: chat and phone

Most consultations arrive in messengers, and there AI support answers on its own. When the customer would rather talk, an operator takes the inbound call in the built-in telephony, and the conversation is transcribed in Uzbek or Russian into the same customer record as the chat (call reviews go up to 300 a month on the Start plan, and that limit is lifted from the Business plan up). The next consultation then starts from the full history, not from “remind me what we discussed”. Outbound AI calls run in the AI Voice module and are available on the Enterprise plan only, from 15,000,000 UZS a month.

What the business gets

  • You do not lose Uzbek-speaking customers — you answer in their language.
  • Automatic language detection — the customer never has to pick a language.
  • Mixed languages are normal — the meaning is understood, not individual words.
  • 24/7 in both languages — at night and at peak, with no operator.

The message history and the customer record, in any language, live in the AI-CRM. Onboarding takes from 2 hours for a small business and up to 30 days for an enterprise.

Frequently asked questions

Does AI support answer in Uzbek

Yes. The AI platform detects the language of the enquiry automatically and answers the way the customer wrote: in Uzbek (Latin or Cyrillic script), in Russian or in a mix of the two. Answers come from your knowledge base, so prices, delivery and payment terms match what your operators say. Anything the base does not cover goes to an operator.

Does the customer have to choose a language

No. The language and script are detected automatically from the text of the enquiry, so the customer does not have to press “Русский” or “Oʻzbekcha” or go through a menu. If they switch from Uzbek to Russian mid-conversation, the next reply comes in Russian. To the customer it feels like talking to an operator who understands both languages.

What if the customer writes in a mix of Uzbek and Russian

That is normal in Uzbekistan. The AI understands a message like “Buyurtma qayerda, когда привезут?” as a whole, by meaning rather than by individual words, and answers in the language that dominates the enquiry. Complex or ambiguous cases go to an operator together with the message history.

Does support answer in Uzbek at night

Yes. AI support answers around the clock in both languages, including nights, weekends and holidays, with no operator involved. Night enquiries that need a person — a refund, a complaint, a non-standard discount — are queued with the full history, so in the morning the operator starts from ready context rather than from “how can I help?”.

Do we need the knowledge base in both languages from the start

Ideally yes. When the key answers — prices, delivery, payment, returns, opening hours — exist in both Uzbek and Russian, the AI closes more enquiries without escalation. The Uzbek part can live in one script, usually Latin, with consistent terms across both languages. Start with the 20–30 most frequent questions from your message history.

How long does launching bilingual support take

For a small business, from 2 hours with the knowledge base ready: connect Instagram, Telegram or WhatsApp, upload the answers and check them on test questions in both languages. For an enterprise with complex integrations — CRM, telephony, internal systems — up to 30 days, including escalation rules and access rights.

Can a customer get a consultation in Uzbek by phone

Yes. An operator takes the inbound call in the built-in telephony, and the conversation is transcribed in Uzbek or Russian and saved in the customer record next to the chat (call reviews go up to 300 a month on the Start plan, and that limit is lifted from the Business plan up). Outbound AI calls run in the AI Voice module and are available on the Enterprise plan only, from 15,000,000 UZS a month.
